On december 16th 1994, Marco Pignattini opened "Al Coccio" restaurant with the help of the old recipes inherited from his grandma Maria, an expert cook in traditional dishes.
The name "Al Coccio" recalls the earthenware dish used for cooking in ancient times. The cookware has become a trademark of the restaurant, used to serve various legumes from the Colfiorito area and the shores of lake Trasimeno in a fashion that recalls cuisine of times past. In keeping with this traditional feel, the restaurants pasta dishes each begin with home made noodles.
Everything on the menu and in the restaurant serves as a reminder of the great tastes and traditions of Marco's homeland, as the mission of "Al Coccio" is to bring the tastes, smells and the traditions of Umbria to the public be they passers by searching for a memory or those who wish to share the Umbrian traditions with friends from near and far.
The restaurant is still growing and flourishing while Marco always aims to convey the love and effort put into the preparation and presentation of each dish to his valued customers each and every day.
